Under the direction of Mr. Pellegrino and with the help of dedicated staff and students, the Brentwood High School Italian Club hosted the nineteenth edition of the Anthony F. Felicio Memorial Bocce Tournament and Scholarship Fundraiser on May 25.
Students and staff came together for the event, which was held for the first time since 2019, and participated in thrilling games of bocce after a brief demonstration of the rules from Mr. Salanistri. The teams were divided into brackets and took part in the friendly competition underneath sunny skies on the fields behind the Sonderling Center.
In the final game of the tournament, Mr. Salanitri and Class of 2018 graduate Jonathan Fernandez won an 11-10 nail-biter over the student team of Anthony Alvarenga and Jason Diaz. All participants enjoyed the afternoon and the return of this great tournament, which was won back in 2003 by current New York State Senator and BHS alumna Monica Martinez.
